Privacy
weighsimple stores the details you enter so the same account can open on another phone. It does not sell that information, and this website does not track visitors.
- Your data is kept on your phone and in Canada.
- Strava access stays on your phone and is read-only.
- This site has no cookies and no analytics.
Account
Sign-up uses your email and a password. Amazon Cognito checks the password and sends the confirmation code. The weighsimple server stores the email address that belongs to the account.
What is saved
Profile details you enter: age, sex, height, units, typical daily steps, and workouts. Each weight you confirm. Cycle dates, if you enter them. The time that record was last updated.
A copy stays on the phone. Another copy is kept in a database at Amazon Web Services in Canada (ca-central-1), tied to your account.
Strava
Connecting Strava is optional. The app asks permission to read your activities, and it uses the calories from those activities for the exercise number on the day you are viewing.
The Strava connection stays on the phone. Those tokens are not uploaded to the weighsimple server. Disconnecting Strava in the app removes them from the phone.
This website
weighsimple.net is a static page. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Its fonts are served from this site, not from a third party.
Removing your data
Log out ends the session on that phone. Uninstalling the app removes the copy stored on the phone. The server copy remains until it is deleted.
The app does not have a delete button yet. To remove the server copy, write to weighsimple@gmail.com from the email on your account and ask for the account to be deleted.
